Registration Process General Information
Welcome to our first year of online registration. We are streamlining the registration process to improve our processing system and offer a more customer friendly experience. This process will also minimize the staff time involved in tracking all registrants interested in playing in our program this season. Registration is open online until March 9, 2012.

Registration Deadline
The official registration deadline is March 9, 2012. Please make sure you have completed the registration deadline by this time or you will be placed on a waiting list and will only be added to a team if there are spots and coaches available to coach another team. Please spread the word to anyone that may be interested in joining our league this season so that we can take care of all families again this year.

How to register
1.  The first time you use this process there's an extra step where you create a family account with a unique pin number.  Once you do this you'll be able use this number for all future registrations.

2.  Once you receive your assigned pin number you need to register your player(s).  All players in the same family will use this same pin  number. The player registration form is where you'll be entering in birthdate, school, division and addd contract information.

3.  Please continue through the checkout step at which point you'll be given 2 choices on how to make your payment.  Instructions are provided on how to pay by check/cash or by credit card.  Please note you can only pay by credit card on-line.

4.  Once payment is received you'll be considered fully registered in the program.

Tryouts
Tryouts for 9 -12 year olds will be held at the Blaine High School Fieldhouse on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Age level times will be listed on the website after March 1, 2012. Separate sessions will be set up for National League Charter (Dist. 11 residents) and for American League Charter (Dist. 16 residents.) All 12 year olds are required to participate in majors tryouts unless a waiver to minors is filed by the family with the Blaine Area Little League Board prior to March 1, 2012. Attention 8 year olds: if you are interested in playing at the 9/10 year old level and player pitch baseball you must tryout with the 9/10 year old group to be considered for placement in the 9/10 year old league. 8 year olds will be placed on teams based on their tryout results and as space allows once 9/10 year olds are placed on teams. If space is not available 8 year olds will be placed in the 7/8 coach pitch division.

Team Formation
Player age for the league is based on little league rules and is the players age as of April 30, 2012. Please keep this in mind when registering for your appropriate division. Teams are formed by the Blaine Area Little League and will play a league schedule against appropriate competition.

4 - 8 yr old players are placed on teams by the age group commissioner. Teams are based on neighborhoods and school locations. One special player request can be made but are not guaranteed. Coach requests will not be accepted this season. An end of season tournament completes this season. Keep in mind that if an 8 yr old chooses to play at the 9/10 y old level they become a part of a casual draft and player requests are not allowed.

9 - 12 yr old players must tryout and are placed on teams by a draft process. 9/10 yr olds will be placed on teams using a casual draft process. 10-12 year olds trying out for majors/minors are ranked based on tryouts and then drafted to Majors teams or Minors teams. Per Little League rules, 12 yr olds that try out will be placed on a Majors team unless they have received a waiver by the league to play at the minors level. You must try out to be on a Majors team. 12 yr olds that do not want to play on the Majors teams or that do not try out must complete a waiver to play in the minors. They are free to play any position in the Minors except pitcher.

**9 year olds can not be drafted to the Majors**

Junior/Senior League
13-19 yr old player teams will be developed based on interest level of appropriate age groups and will play an interleague schedule against other communities and may play in additional weekend tournaments.

Birth Certificates
Each player must provide a copy of their birth certificate if requested to verify age level. If a player is selected for All-Stars at the end of the regular season an original birth certificate is required for participation by Little League District 1.
